5 Hot Spots to Cool Down in Delavan, WI

August is shaping up to be one of the hottest months on record here in Delavan! With the temperatures reaching well into the 90°s, everyone is talking about the best places to cool off and soak in the sun. We’ve rounded up our top five places in Delavan to make a splash this August and bask in the last few weeks of summer. Check them out:

Mill Pond

The Mill Pond is Delavan’s only naturally spring fed swimming pond! With a beach house with changing rooms, restrooms, and a concession stand it is the perfect place for an afternoon picnic and swim. The pond is bordered by a beach, picnic areas, and a sand volleyball court, swings and sand play structures.

Lake Comus

If paddleboarding and kayaking are more your thing, Lake Comus is the perfect place to paddle! The calm waters border peaceful Wisconsin marshland and provide for a quiet escape mere feet from the hustle of downtown Delavan. Equipment including paddleboards and kayaks can be rented from Delavan Paddle Sports at picked up at the Mill Pond Building.

Community Park Beach on Delavan Lake

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the beach on this list! Pack up your sunscreen, towels, snorkels, and sand toys and head to the beach at Community Park! As Delavan Lake’s only beachfront, Community Park is the place to soak up the sun. Planning for an afternoon on the water? Community Park also features a boat launch. Admission is required for non-residents and can be purchased at the gate.

The Lookout Pool at Lake Lawn Resort

Chill out poolside this summer at the Lookout Pool at Lake Lawn Resort! Just outside the Lookout Bar & Eatery is the Lookout outdoor pool. Swim along the shores of Delavan Lake in this heated outdoor pool and enjoy poolside service from the Lookout Bar & Eatery. The Lookout outdoor pool features a kiddie pool and daily poolside games.

The Waterfront at Turtle Lake Tap & Grill

Nestled on two acres of scenic lakeshore, the Waterfront at Turtle Lake Tap & Grill is the perfect place for a refreshing dip. Adults can enjoy a boozy tiki drink while the kiddos can sip on fresh smoothies. Grab a bite to eat from the shoreline restaurant and jump on in to the lake from the pier.
