Treats for Adults this Halloween!

Trick or treat may be the most exciting thing about Halloween…for the kids. That’s why I’d like to break this misconception that the little ones are the only ones that get to have fun for Halloween. Dressing up, playing tricks and enjoying treats are fun at any age. In Delavan, many businesses are hosting fun Halloween activities, showing that you can still have Halloween fun, even if you’ve gotten too big to knock on your neighbors’ doors for candy. Think this is a trick? Take a look for yourself…

Dr.S.Cary'sFor those of you looking for that good fright in the night, the two haunted houses of Dr. S. Cary’s Scream Park are not for the faint of heart. The horror starts immediately as you venture through the crypts and swamps of the Ghoulish Realms and the remainder of your wits will be feasted upon in the Dungeons of Terror. Dr. S. Cary’s  will be open every Friday & Saturday in October and will remain open for their Black Out Weekend, November 2nd & 3rd, from 7:30 pm – 11:00 pm.

Aram Library_ofrenda_dia_de_muertos_with_candlesCandy and good scares are not all that Halloween is about. Join Rosa Zamora as she creates a Dia de los Muertos altar and explains the cultural significance of Day of the Dead. The importance of memorializing deceased loved ones, along with a brief explanation on Mexican paper cutting will be apart of the Dia de los Muertos Ofrenda Presentation on October 17.

LLR_BoosAndBrews_2018_Asset_11_Website-230x175There will be a smashing good time at Lake Lawn Resort’s Boos & Brews Halloween Bash with live music, spooky spirits and wicked brews under our large beer tent. Come in your spookiest costumes to win the costume contest! Or to enjoy some unique seasonal tasties like Apple Pie Fries and Smoked Turkey Legs with Pumpkin Pie BBQ sauce. If that doesn’t speak to the foodies out there, I don’t know what will!

Ol Wisco - Latin Halloween title 2018.jpg

Dance the night away in your best costume at Ol’ Wisco Bar and Grill’s Latin Halloween Party. Cash prizes will be awarded to the Best Costume Contest. Drink specials and music DJ’d by Martyn DeLaFunQ & Rude Minor will carry you into a night of fun that you will never forget. Dress up and get out to Ol’ Wisco on Saturday, October 27.

llr_halloweenonthegreen_2018.jpgLast but not least, golfers get one last hurrah by adding a little twist to the normal golf outing at Majestic Oaks’ Halloween on the Green Golf Outing. Compete for best costume and decorate a golf cart if you choose. Take on these challenges along with tackling the course for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winnings. Everybody wins with Bloody Mary Bar at the start and lunch at a relaxing finish.

No matter your definition of fun, you’ll have a blast this Halloween, just as much as the kids!!
