Your Delavan Summer Bucket-List

Summer is in full swing and there are SO many things on our Summer Bucket-List we can hardly wait to get started!  This year’s bucket list offers more than 30 ideas of things to do this summer for every budget, interest, and age. We’ve even included some fun ideas for date nights as well as for when you get together with the girls. Think you’ve done it all in Delavan, think again! 

  1. Go strawberry picking in the orchards at Apple Barn Orchard and Winery.
  2. Try out your best kick-flips and 180-ollie twists at Andy’s Skate and Bike Park.
  3. Go wild at Animal Gardens! Get up close and personal with over 60 animals and experience incredible shows featuring animals with incredible talents and have even been featured on America’s Got Talent. 
  4. Taco Tuesday on your mind? Celebrate the weekly holiday with Hernandez’ Restaurant downtown! Enjoy fresh guacamole alongside their famous tacos.  Don’t forget the margarita.
  5. Read your heart out during Aram Public Library’s Summer Reading Program.  School may be out, but learning never stops.
  6. Catch a show at The Belfry Music Theater.  With acts inspired by the Beatles, to the Beach Boys, to Broadway Musicals, there is a show everyone can enjoy on the schedule for this summer.  You can even livestream the shows from the comfort of your own home!
  7. Pick up farm fresh strawberries from Blue Clay Berry Farm and turn them into a tasty treat!
  8. Treat yourself to a day at the Calladora Spa at Lake Lawn Resort.  Relax and unwind with a massage, facial, and a pampering pedicure. 
  9. Take a stroll through the gardens at Congdon Gardens. An ever changing display of flowers, shrubs and trees surrounds a serene pond that invites viewing and relaxation. It’s a place where you can observe, learn, enjoy.
  10. Shop the freshest local produce and goodies at the Delavan Fresh Market in Tower Park every Thursday afternoon.  (We cannot get enough of the Good Oak Farmstead Chive and Cheddar loaf).
  11. Climb aboard the Lake Lawn Queen for a grand tour of Delavan Lake. While on board you’ll see 5 Frank Lloyd Wright homes and other historic lakefront properties.
  12. Hit the greens and golf on one of the oldest courses in Wisconsin at Delbrook Golf Club.  Play 9, 18, or 27 holes on a beautiful course right here in Delavan. 
  13. Experience the local art scene by visiting Lubick Gallery.  Find locally made treasures and pieces of fine art from area artists to bring new life into your home. 
  14. Go Fish! On the lake of course, silly! Lake Comus is the perfect place to cast your line for a day of fishing with the family.  Cath largemouth bass, bluegill, and northern pike on this local fishing hotspot.
  15. Sign up for Lake Life Camp! If your kiddos ever wanted to learn how to waterski, wakeboard, or wakesurfing, Lake Life Camp is the perfect place to learn! Kids of all skill levels from complete beginners to experienced surfers can come and master the watersport of their choice. Caution: major fun to be had!
  16. A Take your tastebuds on a trip around the world at Yo Shi Sushi.  Known for their fresh sushi and sashimi, enjoy a light meal of your favorite rolls or try something new! “Itadakimasu” or “lets eat”!

  19. Re-center and re-focus your energy when you sign up for yoga classes at Yoga Hohm.  With classes for complete beginners or experts working to tighten their technique, find your zen and register for classes today.

Celebrating Independence Day in Delavan

It’s almost time to celebrate the Red, White & Blue, and here is how to make the most of the 4th of July celebrations here in Delavan!

The Town of Delavan will be hosting their annual Independence Day Celebration, Saturday June 27th. Kicking it of at 4pm in Community Park, Food Trucks will be serving up yummy treats and festive eats. Snack on goodies from Mr.P’s Grilled Cheese LLC, BBQ Shack, Yogi’s Pud’n, Lucy’s Kettle Corn, and Sweet Treats.

It certainly wouldn’t be a Delavan celebration without some live music! Catch performances by Jenny Hundt at 4:15-5:45 and fan favorite South State starting at 6:00 lasting through the evening.

The sky will come alive with dazzling fireworks at dusk. So grab your lawn chairs, pack your picnic baskets, and head on over to Community Park June 27th for an extravaganza you won’t want to miss!
