Shrimp Boil at Staller Estate Winery

The Little Lamb Food Truck is setting up shop at Staller Estate Winery, Friday August 13th for an all you can eat shrimp boil extravaganza. The culinary crew from the Black Sheep in Whitewater have teamed up with the winemakers at Staller to offer this amazing meal complete with seasonal wine pairings featuring unlimited salad, shrimp, corn on the cob, potatoes, sausage, and corn bread for just $24.95 per plate. Be sure to bring the wet wipes!

Friends of the Aram Public Library Annual Book Sale

Calling all bookworms! Join us for the Friends of Aram Public Library’s annual summer book sale under the big white tent on the Library’s front lawn. Hundreds of adult, children and teen books, DVD’s and music CD’s to choose from, all at bargain prices. The sale kicks off at 8 am and continues through the afternoon until 3pm.

Live Music at the Lookout: Kevin Kennedy

Let the Lookout do the cooking this weekend! Enjoy live music by Kevin Kennedy at the Lookout Bar & Eatery at Lake Lawn Resort, Saturday August 14th. Enjoy menu specials including their famous cheese curds, street tacos, reuben chimichanga, or cheddar beer brat.

BONUS: DAS Fest USA

Don your lederhosen, and roll out the barrel, the first ever DAS Fest USA is almost here! Celebrate all things German at the three-day festival at the Walworth County Fairgrounds, Friday August 13th through Sunday, August 15th! Its Fall Y’all: Scarecrow Fest Returns to Delavan Saturday, September 18th 2021

It’s almost Fall, y’all! And you know what that means! The 21st Annual Scarecrow Fest is just around the corner! Join in on the free and festive fun Saturday, September 18th for a full day of fall activities for the whole family throughout historic Downtown Delavan! 

This year’s Scarecrow Fest event will feature the ever popular Scarecrow Walk, free pumpkins, Walldog Mural tours, food trucks, DIY Scarecrow building workshops, sidewalk sales, market vendors, live music, and so much more, there’s sure to be something for everyone!

Scarecrow Walk

A Scarecrow Fest tradition lives on! Stroll the bricks streets and meet the Scarecrows built and decorated by local businesses and organizations.  From kooky, to classic, to farm style favorites, the Scarecrow Walk is the highlight of the festival you will not want to miss. You can even vote for your favorite Scarecrows to earn their creators awards and prizes.

Family Activities

When we say ‘fun for the whole family’ we truly mean it! Get inspired by the Scarecrows lining the streets and purchase a DIY Scarecrow Kit to go and build your buddy at home. Kiddos can pick up a free pumpkin at the Pumpkin Patch. Embark on a Wallldog Mural Tour and learn more about Delavan’s unique history while completing a Scavenger Hunt perfect for all ages. Pose for a photo-op in front of an old fashioned pickup truck at the Aram Public Library. Ever wanted to hug a sheep or befriend a bearded dragon? Head to the Gee Funny Farm Petting Zoo at the Library throughout the afternoon and meet some new fuzzy friends.

Chow Down

With all the activity, your stomach will definitely be grumbling. Eat your way through Scarecrow Fest by visiting the many food trucks and vendors for a savory snack or a sweet treat. Enjoy offerings from the Isola.eats, Sandwich Sisters, The Mini Donut Truck, Taqueria La Estrella, and Pastries by Chad. Utiger’s Jewelry, the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and La Monarcha will also be selling burgers, brats, hotdogs, corn, baked potatoes, chili, and other refreshments! Can you say yum?!

Live Entertainment

No Downtown Delavan event could be complete without some live entertainment! The Scarecrow Fest lineup includes performances by The Sonic Boomers, Underground Sound Jazz, and Paulie and the Poor Boys. Pink Fraud will round out the festival with a free concert in the park at 7:00 pm at the Phoenix Park Bandshell and feature a laser light show by Laser Fusion.  

Shop the Downtown

While you’re exploring Downtown Delavan, be sure to shop the craft and vendor market featuring over 50 unique crafters, artisans, home bakers, and small business owners. With products ranging from homegrown produce, handcrafted pottery, and uncommon finds, your new favorite treasures are sure to be found. Additionally, downtown businesses will be hosting sidewalk sales and Scarecrow Fest specials available for one day only!

The Outlaws – Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson Tribute at The Belfry

Looking for live music? Head to The Belfry Friday and Saturday June 18th and 19th for The Outlaws – A Tribute to Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings. Hailed As “Nashville’s Original Outlaws” Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson identified the progressive renegade movement and its break from the traditional Nashville stereotype. Brick Street Day

Brick Street Day is finally here! Join us in Downtown Delavan, Saturday, June 19th for a day of arts and entertainment! See live artist demonstrations by world-famous chalk artist, The Chalk Girl, Beth Zwolski Tobias. Kiddos can enjoy story hour with Ms. Katharine from Aram Public Library. Join Aram Public Library and Delavan Parks & Recreation at Phoenix Park and celebrate the kick off to Summer Reading 2021 with an evening of fun! At the event you can sign up for the Summer Reading Program, adopt a new stuffed fuzzy friend, play some lawn games, and watch a movie in the park at the Cardboard Box Drive In! Movies In The Park: The Karate Kid

Bring the whole family to the Phoenix Park Bandshell Friday, June 11th, and enjoy a relaxing evening under the stars watching a movie on the cinema-sized screen. Panfish Tournament Hosted by Lakeside Bait and Tackle

Grab your fishing poles and head to Lakeside Bait & Tackle for the Summer Panfish Tournament, Saturday June 12th! Grab your fishing buddy and hit the water to see who can catch the most Panfish between 7am and 2pm. Winners will take home a $500 cash prize and all participants will be entered to win the Grand Prize Drawing at the event’s close.

Harvest Time Scavenger Hunts – Daily Through October 30th

The City of Delavan park & rec. and Aram public library will be partnering to bring residents a fun, free scavenger hunt throughout the City of Delavan! Each week we will place Rodger the scarecrow in a visible location throughout the City. Need a hint? Be sure to check Aram Public Library’s Facebook page throughout each week for clues to Rodger’s whereabouts. Once you’ve found Rodger, stop by the Delavan Parks and Rec Office with a picture of our roaming buddy, Rodger. The first person each week to do so will receive a prize!

Fall Family Festival at Lake Lawn Resort – Saturday and Sunday, October 10th and 11th

Family, friends, and fall fun! Enjoy an extended weekend at Lake Lawn Resort October 10-11, 2020 during at Family Fall Festival. Family Fall Festival is packed with fall-themed activities including scarecrow building, pumpkin decorating, family yard games, and much more. Hop aboard one of our hayrides to enjoy scenic autumn views and the fresh, crisp air of Delavan Lake. Top off the weekend with our Fall Colors boat tour on our Lake Lawn Queen.

Join the Aram Public Library in a Virtual Beer Tasting with Duesterbeck’s Brewing Company on Wednesday, October 21st at 7 p.m. From the comfort of your own home, join Ben Johnson in a brewery tour and tasting event featuring three craft beers.  Invite family and friends and join the fun with this virtual event.  Ben will share the process of making craft beer and share suggestions as to what foods go best with Duesterbeck’s beers. Town of Delavan Oktoberfest – Saturday, October 24th

Head to Community Park for an afternoon of German Festivities, Saturday, October 24.  Enjoy polkas from the Steve Meisner Band, Sauerkraut Eating Competitions, German Dancers, German Trivia, Axe Throwing, German Fare, Food Trucks, Beer, Crafts, and more! Prost!

Celebrate Halloween in Delavan

Happy Halloween season everyone! The spooks and spirits have awoken around Delavan and have planned some frightful fun throughout the whole month of October. From not-so-spooky events for the kiddos to adults only Halloween fun, you’re sure to find a spook-tacular time right here in Delavan.

Halloween In The Wood – October 11, 3:30-8pm

House In The Wood combines the spooky fun of Halloween with the beauty of nature to create an event that’s fun for the whole family. The woodland is transformed into a make-believe forest complete with a talking owl, a scaredy-cat skunk, a singing spider, and other creatures. Hikes start every 10 minutes, with the last hike ending at 8:30. Each group of under 10 people will have their own time slot. Masks and social distancing required. Cider, popcorn, and a craft are included. Advance registration is required.

Creepy Crafties with Aram Public Library – Thursdays at 4pm 

Join Aram Public Library on Facebook every Thursday in October for CREEPY CRAFTIES! They’ll share a different craft every week that you can create from the comfort of your own home! These spook-tacular creations can be made with materials you have at home OR by stopping by the library to pick up a Creepy Crafties kit filled with all the goodies you’ll need to recreate that week’s craft!

Not So Scary Stories with Aram Public Library – Mondays at 7:30

Hey all you little ghouls and goblins! Do you like stories with creepy crawlies, monsters, and things that go bump in the night, but aren’t super scary? Join Ms. Katherine every Monday evening during the month of October for some Not-So-Scary Stories on the Aram Public Library Facebook page!

Individual Readings at Snug Harbor Campground – Sunday, October 18

Medium Jonna Kay takes a quiet table to do personal, one on one, readings on this Sunday afternoon. Sign up for your time, and sit down, have a drink and Jonna will call you when it’s your turn. Jonna will also have a selection of Tarot and Oracle cards to look at future events, or you can get a reading from a loved one who has crossed over.

Legends Karaoke Costume Party at Delavan Lake Store – Friday, October 31

It’s a Costume Karaoke Party! Dress as whoever you plan on singing for the entire evening. There will be food provided, feel free to bring a dish, and don’t forget to tip your bartender. There will also be a Witches Brew to drink as well! 

Trick or Treating – Saturday, October 31

Time to don your costumes and Trick Or Treat the streets of Delavan.  The Town of Delavan will be Trick or Treating Saturday, October 31st from Noon to 3pm. Trick Or Treating hours for the City of Delavan are October 31st, 4pm to 6pm. 

Halloween Trunk or Treat – Saturday, October 31

Join Turtle Lake Tap & Grill on Saturday, October 31st, and kick off your trick or treating with the special Trunk or Treat event! Participation requires a decorated ride (or passengers) + enough treats to pass out to littles. Best decorated receives beer tokens & swag for all passengers over 21 years of age. Halloween specials will be served all night

Halloween Monster Bash – Saturday, October 31

Rosewood is the place to be this Halloween! The evening starts out with a Chef Attended Pizza Station served from 7:00pm-8:00pm and Themed Craft Cocktails in the Rosewood’s Haunted Bar and Theater throughout the evening!
Live music by Big Al & Jimbo (@Big Al Wetzel Band ) begins at 8:00pm-10:00pm. There will be prizes awarded for best costumes and an opportunity to close the evening with dancing for the night owls!

Scarecrow Fest

Saturday, September 19, is Scarecrow Fest in Downtown Delavan! Scarecrow Fest is a community-wide, family-oriented event featuring scarecrows on parade and free activities throughout historic Downtown Delavan! With free pumpkins, classic car show, Walldog Mural tours, food trucks, DIY scarecrow kits, sidewalk sales, market vendors, live music, and so much more, there’s something for everyone! Usher in Autumn in Delavan Saturday, September 19th, 10 am-4 pm.  See you at Scarecrow Fest!

Apple Picking at the Orchard

Nothing says fall fun like a day at the Apple Barn Orchard and Winery! Go on an apple picking adventure throughout the orchards and pick from over 13 different varieties of crisp apples. The U-pick season kicks off September 19th! Stop in the Country Store and sample seasonal delights including apple cider doughnuts, caramel apples, Wisconsin cheeses, and homemade jellies and jams.  Grown-ups can sample a variety of house wines and ciders sourced from fruits grown on-site and take home a bottle of their favorite. Check out their calendar of events so you don’t miss out on the annual Apple Fest, September 26th & 27th, or Pumpkin Patch, October 2nd!

Pumpkin Paint and Sip

Grab some friends and get creative at Paint and Sip at Scoop’s on County Road O on Thursday, September 10th! Paint a  ‘Pumpkin Trio’ no experience needed. For just  $35 per person, you’ll receive all your supplies including the 12×24″ canvas, paints, brushes, and of course a drink! Reservations are required for this event so call (262) 728-3200 to reserve your spot.

Oktoberfest

The town of Delavan will roll out the barrel and celebrate Oktoberfest Saturday, October 24th in Community Park. Join in on the German-inspired fun at the Bier Tent while enjoying Brats, Bavarian Pretzels, and other traditional eats.  Polka your heart out to the beats of the Steve Miesner Band. Oktoberfest kicks off at noon at Community Park.  Prost!

Autumn with the Aram Public Library

If staying in is more your style, be sure to check out Aram Public Library’s Fall virtual programming! Gather the kiddos for Not-So-Scary-Stories, Creepy Crafties, and seasonally inspired Cusine for Kiddos.  Adults can tune in to the Virtual Beer Tasting featuring Duesterbeck Brewing Company Brews on October 21st..  Hear from Ben Johnson, from the comfort of your own home, clue you in to the brewing process and history of craft beer.  To taste along at home, you can pick up a set of beers at the library a week before the event.

Fall Color Tour

Enjoying the changing leaves in Delavan can be blink-and-you’ll-miss-them quick. With only a narrow window of time to enjoy them, it’s time to plan for a Fall Color Tour throughout the Delavan Parks System. Stroll through Ora Rice Arboretum or meander the paths of Congdon Gardens while enjoying the brilliant colors of the foliage.
